Anyone know of a router that can transmit wireless as well as phoneline/electricity? | |
I have a reception problem in one of my rooms - it can't receive wirless connection (walls of steel). I still need wireless in the house - is there any router that can work with wireless + transmission through the phoneline/electricity?
Answers:
1there are not any routers that run phonelines but there are solutions that use your existing wiring to get connections through to all your pcs. Least expensive solution is to setup a relay using an ethernet bridge somewhere near the room you can't get the signal to as the ethernet bridge can act as a booster and get the signal transmitted....more complicated and possibly costly way is to look for an adapter system that uses your homes existing electrical wiring to carry your internet signal to all the rooms of your home. OR you could run an ethernet cable to the room in question and have it hard wired to the router.......or possibly just set the router up on the pc you can't get the signal to and connect the other pcs to it that way.
Finally, you could always move the computer, or poke holes in the walls to get the signal through.
