1It already is. That is how wireless communications works. Radio waves create electric current in the receiver which is then amplified to create the sound that you hear.
The problem with wireless electricity is that it is an inefficient way to distribute it. It spreads out over a wider and wider area the further you get from the source resulting in a huge amount of waste.
