Wireless electricity is a quite new find by the scientists in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and basically it is a technique how to deliver power to devices that are a bit further. All the system is based on physics laws and actually it is quite surprising that it was not discovered and developed some time ago.
Wireless electricity or as it is sometimes called: witricity is probably the way of the future as it can decrease the costs of power delivery, thus decreasing the costs not only for the consumer but also the manufacturer of the power as wireless electricity will cut down the costs of taking care of the electricity systems more than you can imagine. The reason behind it is that simply there will be no more electricity systems to take care of as all the electricity is transferred wireless.
Of course, scientists are still developing and improving the system and it will probably still take some time until it is completely foolproof, but do not be surprised if even in few years wireless electricity will be introduced to the general public with all the benefits that it will bring to the consumers, producers and of course also the environment.

2008-03-21 16:01 | Sorry to correct this article, but "wireless electricity" is nothing new. It is well known as a side effect of radio broadcasting from it's beginning.
In the early days of radio broadcasting people living close to the radio towers often discovered that their light bulbs and flourescent lamps where shining, even if the (wired) electricity was switched off.
Nowadays this effect has mostly disappeared, because of better isolation (shielding) of the cables and starter-electronic of the lamps.

Q.Is there a specific field of study in witricity?

2009-01-12 08:47 | Me and my brothers used to play with wireless electricity as Kids. My Father CB Landrum Made a Wireless Electrical Box that had two metal handles on it. Then you would place the secondary box above the primary box while holding the secondary boxes metal handles. You would then control the current that flowed through your body. Me and my brothers and sisters used this as a game although, my father built it originally for my grandmothers Arthritis around 1943. He also constructed a secondary coil that you would set on top of the primary tnat had a light socket built in, the light would light up every time on any watt. I still have the Shock box as we called it and I think I also have the secondary coil that he made for the light.
